Ex Machina: Automagically - A Catalog of Willem de Kooning Students their artwork, combining the occult, magic and technology.
For Ex Machina: Auto-Magically, a Willem de Kooning Academy Honours Program I created a "cyborg" catalog. Using your phone, you can scan the NFC-chip on the cover that brings you to the ex-machina.digital website. The catalog includes student work of those who participated in the program. This project was in collaboration with Ryan de Bruijn.
The inspiration for the catalog was the occult, magic and technology. Magic and technology are two words that seem to clash, however definitely share some common ground. The combination of these ‘clashing’ themes create an interesting, cyborg-like look that invites you to look further. The catalog contains black risoprinted paper and a cover + back with metallic foil.
